Giorgio Armani, Milan, 1995
Buongiorno, Signor Armani. Grazie e arrivederci.
On June 12, 1995, I photographed Giorgio Armani at his headquarters on Via Borgonuovo in Milan. No set, no preparation, no second chance — just a few minutes, an analog Nikon 35mm camera, simple light, and three exposures.
What emerged is an unusually candid moment: Armani focused, composed, entirely himself. No staging, no fashion drama — only presence, poise, and a gaze that reflects the essence of his work.
After his passing in September 2025, I dedicated this edition to his legacy. It is far more than a portrait: a quiet, precise document of a man who shaped the world of fashion for decades — captured with maximum photographic clarity and analog authenticity.
